Chris Nash is a St. Louis, Missouri native who attended Johnson County Community College. The 6-4, 260 lbs right-handed infielder was drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 22nd round of the 2005 draft, but didn't sign. He was drafted again by the Cleveland Indians in the 24th round of the 2006 draft and was signed to a contract. Nash played in 254 games over three years for the Indians in the Gulf Coast rookie league, Mahoning Valley of the Low-A New York-Penn League and with Lake County of the South Atlantic League in 2009. Following his release from the Indians, Nash joined the Maui Warriors of the independent Golden League in 2010. Nash is expected to be the Sox starting first baseman, where he has a career .990 fielding percentage, with just 19 career errors in 254 games.
