Jeffries comes to the Bears after enjoying a fine career at Florida A&M University, earning All-Mid Eastern Athletic Conference honors in 2009, a year where Jeffries batted an astounding .425 with 71 hits, among the NCAA Division I leaders in both categories. Jeffries also batted .378 in 2008 with 62 hits. He had more than 15 stolen bases in each of his four years in college. The 2011 season marks his debut in professional baseball.
