Acquired on May 24, 2011 from the New Jersey Jackals. Has been named his respective team’s Player of the Year four times in his first seven professional seasons...began the 2010 season with the Double-A Montgomery Biscuits but was limited to just 29 total games, including stops in the Gulf Coast League and Advanced-A Florida State League, after undergoing back surgery in late April to repair a herniated disk. In 2007, Royster won the Rays minor league triple crown and was named the MLB.com Class A Player of the Year and the Rays Minor League Player of the Year after batting .329 with 30 home runs and 98 RBIs with the Columbus Catfish.
