Walls quickly caught the attention of the Philadelphia Phillies when he stormed into their minor league system in 2006 by not allowing an earned run in his first 11 appearances. His most impressive season as a pro came in 2008, when he rebounded from an injury by collecting the Phillies’ Minor League Pitcher of the Month award in May. That earned him a promotion to Class AA Reading. Between both clubs when he went 2-2 and notched 14 saves while posting a 3.60 ERA and 51 strikeouts in 60 innings. After a one-year break, Walls joins the Pheasants and independent baseball for the first time. The Phillies selected Walls in the 10th round of the 2006 draft out of North Carolina State University.
