A five-run explosion in the sixth inning lifted the Wenatchee AppleSox (4-0) to a 9-1 win over the Portland Bucks (0-3) at WCL Field on Wednesday.

The Wenatchee AppleSox were led by a flawless day at the dish by Ryan Howell, who went 3-3 against the Portland Bucks' pitching. He singled in the first, fourth, and seventh innings.

Myles Richard led the Portland Bucks' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He also drove in one runner. He tripled in the first inning.

K.J. Edson recorded his first win of the year for the Wenatchee AppleSox. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Braydon Poole couldn't get it done on the bump for the Portland Bucks, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out five.
