Early lead gives the DeKalb County Liners easy victory over the DuPage County Hounds, 16-6

The DeKalb County Liners (16-10) jumped out to an early lead on the DuPage County Hounds (14-13) and captured a 16-6 victory on Thursday at Founders Field.

The game was decided quickly as the DeKalb County Liners exerted their will early with eight runs in the first three innings.

An error, a sacrifice fly by Eric Lockwood, and a three-run home run by Christian Venditti during the first inning and a fielder's choice and an RBI single by Joey Burney in the second inning supplied the early offense for the DeKalb County Liners.

Beau Wallace racked up two RBIs on four hits for the DeKalb County Liners. He singled in the first, sixth, and eighth innings.

Luke Harrison struck out seven hitters en route to the the DeKalb County Liners win. Harrison allowed one earned run on four hits and five walks over seven innings.

Charles Gould had a hot bat for the DuPage County Hounds. Gould went 3-5 and scored two runs. He singled in the first and fourth innings.

Luke Ball was charged with his third loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in three innings, walked one and struck out one.
