Early lead not enough for the Abilene Prairie Dogs, drop 7-3 decision to the Fort Worth Cats

The Abilene Prairie Dogs (16-24) built an early edge on Thursday, but the Fort Worth Cats (23-17) roared back to steal a 7-3 victory at Walt Driggers Field.

Gave the Fort Worth Cats the lead in the eighth inning.

CJ Beatty put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Fort Worth Cats. He doubled in the sixth inning.

Wilson Batista racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He singled in the third and seventh innings.

Blake Nation got the win, running his season record to 5-1. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Nation struck out two, walked two and gave up nine hits.

Adam Rowe (2-2) took the loss for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out six, and allowed four runs.

The Fort Worth Cats' Derek Marshall, Beatty and Chad Gabriel combined for seven hits and six RBIs.
