Caves leads the Abilene Prairie Dogs to 9-7 win over the Fort Worth Cats

Chris Caves hit two home runs to carry the Abilene Prairie Dogs (16-23) to a 9-7 win over the Fort Worth Cats (22-17) at LaGrave Field.

Caves racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.

The Abilene Prairie Dogs held off the Fort Worth Cats, as the Fort Worth Cats were unable to overcome a four-run sixth inning deficit.

The Fort Worth Cats scored on an RBI double by RJ Harris, a groundout by Jon Dziomba, and a sacrifice fly by Chuck Caufield in the sixth inning, an RBI single by Dziomba in the seventh inning, and an RBI single by Chad Gabriel in the eighth inning. Unfortunately, the Fort Worth Cats weren't able to take the lead back.

Billy Petrick recorded his fourth win for the Abilene Prairie Dogs even though he allowed five runs over 5 2/3 innings. Petrick struck out six, walked none and gave up 10 hits.

James Giulietti couldn't get it done on the mound for the Fort Worth Cats, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked three and struck out five.
