The Edinburg Roadrunners (21-13) beat the Abilene Prairie Dogs (14-19) 12-6 on Wednesday at Edinburg Stadium after an eight-run explosion in the fifth inning.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fifth, with four lead changes.
Wilmer Pino racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Edinburg Roadrunners. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.
Even though Matison Smith allowed five runs over six innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. Smith struck out five, walked three and gave up six hits.
Brian Smith (3-3) took the loss for the Abilene Prairie Dogs. He allowed seven runs in four innings, walked one and struck out two.
