A walk-off single from Tyler Kamtz brought home the winning run for the Acadiana Cane Cutters (22-27) in a 2-1 victory over the Victoria Generals (27-22) at Fabacher Field on Wednesday.
The Acadiana Cane Cutters were led by Kamtz's hitting. Kamtz went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.
The Victoria Generals couldn't get anything going as long as Kelby Langston was pitching. Langston held the Victoria Generals hitless over 2 2/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out none.
Despite the loss, the Victoria Generals' Tyler Schnuriger dominated the Acadiana Cane Cutters' batters, giving up one run and striking out five.
Andrew Richardson recorded his first win of the year for the Acadiana Cane Cutters. Richardson struck out four, walked none and gave up two hits.
Tanner Green (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
