Garrett Lozano went 2-3 as the Woodlands Strykers (17-29) took home a 2-1 victory over the Alexandria Aces (22-26) in seven innings at Strykers Stadium on Tuesday.
He singled in the first and third innings.Cory Maltz had an impressive outing against the Alexandria Aces' lineup. The Alexandria Aces managed just two hits off of the the Woodlands Strykers' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked one and struck out two during his seven innings of work.
The Alexandria Aces were led by Stryker Brown's hitting. Brown went 1-2, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the fifth inning.
Andrew Cecil pitched six innings and allowed no earned runs, four hits and four walks while striking out four.
Ben Frith ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his sixth loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
