The Brazos Valley Bombers survive the Acadiana Cane Cutters rally, escape with 5-4 victory

The Acadiana Cane Cutters (21-25) weren't able to come back from the big hole they dug themselves into against the Brazos Valley Bombers (30-20), and the Acadiana Cane Cutters lost 5-4 to the Brazos Valley Bombers after falling behind by four runs in the eighth inning.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters scored on an RBI single by Austin Roussel and a passed ball in the eighth inning and a sacrifice fly by Issac Rodriguez in the ninth inning. Still, the Acadiana Cane Cutters couldn't catch the Brazos Valley Bombers.

Chris Florack got on base four times in the game for the Brazos Valley Bombers. He singled in the first and third innings.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters had no answer for Brad Vachon, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Acadiana Cane Cutters managed just two hits off of the the Brazos Valley Bombers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his five innings of work.

William Mathis (2-3) took the loss for the Acadiana Cane Cutters. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
