The Victoria Generals (28-22) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Alexandria Aces (22-29) on Monday, as the Victoria Generals fell 9-7 at Riverside Stadium after falling behind by nine runs in the fourth inning.
The Victoria Generals scored on a two-run single by Chad Kruse in the sixth inning, in the eighth inning, and , an RBI single by Alex Klonowski, an RBI single by Kruse, and a single by Jude Vidrine in the ninth inning. Despite their efforts, the Victoria Generals couldn't get over the hump.
Jeff Sealy had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and eighth innings.
The Alexandria Aces got the win thanks in large part to Tyler Vail's dominant, six-strikeout performance. Vail allowed two earned runs on three hits and two walks over seven innings.
Covey Morrow couldn't get it done on the bump for the Victoria Generals, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in three innings, walked one and struck out two.
The Alexandria Aces were sparked by Garrett Vail and Sealy, who teamed up for seven hits and five RBIs.
