Dan Perkins brought home the winning run to give the Woodlands Strykers (21-32) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Woodlands Strykers hung on to beat the McKinney Marshals (15-37) 5-4 on Tuesday.Brian Brightwell doubled to start the eighth. He then went from second to third on an error. Finally, Perkins came to the plate with the score tied at four in the eighth inning, and singled, scoring Brightwell.
Ricardo Sanchez had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the sixth and seventh innings.
Cory Maltz pitched lights out for the Woodlands Strykers. The McKinney Marshals managed just two hits off of the the Woodlands Strykers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his four innings of work.
Taylor Hale (2-1) took the loss for the McKinney Marshals. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed four runs.
