Rene Moreda brought home the go-ahead run to give the Alexandria Aces (19-22) the lead in the seventh inning, as the Alexandria Aces hung on to beat the East Texas Pump Jacks (30-12) 3-2 on Monday.Jeff Seely singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to third. Finally, Moreda came to the plate with the score tied at two, and grounded out, bringing home Seely.
Michael Baxter picked up the win for the Alexandria Aces. Baxter pitched nine innings and allowed two earned runs, five hits and three walks while striking out six.
Kevin OLeary had a hot bat for the East Texas Pump Jacks. OLeary went 1-3, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the third inning.
Bryce Lombardi (1-1) took the loss for the East Texas Pump Jacks. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked none, struck out none, and allowed one run.
