The Brazos Valley Bombers get on top of the Acadiana Cane Cutters early but can't hang on in 5-3 loss

The Brazos Valley Bombers (25-19) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 5-3 to the Acadiana Cane Cutters (20-20) on Monday.

An RBI single by Alex Marse gave the Acadiana Cane Cutters the lead in the sixth inning.

The Acadiana Cane Cutters' Mitchell Nau was perfect at the dish, going 2-2. He singled in the second and fifth innings.

Sean Kennel kept contact to a minimum, striking out eight the Brazos Valley Bombers batters. Kennel allowed three earned runs on six hits and no walks over seven innings.

Quentin Urban had a hot bat for the Brazos Valley Bombers. Urban went 2-3, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

Derek Mazzio (2-2) took the loss for the Brazos Valley Bombers. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
