The Victoria Generals (24-13) jumped out to an early lead, but were unable to hold on and lost 3-1 to the Woodlands Strykers (11-25) on Thursday.
While the Victoria Generals led until the sixth inning, the Woodlands Strykers worked their way back and took the lead on a three-run home run by Michael Aquino.
Aquino racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Woodlands Strykers. He singled in the fifth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
The Victoria Generals couldn't get anything going as long as Cory Maltz was on the mound. Maltz held the Victoria Generals hitless over four innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Bryce Zak ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
