He then went from first to third on a single by Kevin Lamb. Finally, Florack came to the plate with the score tied at three in the sixth inning, and singled, scoring Smelser.
The Brazos Valley Bombers were led by Corey Toups's hitting. Toups went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He singled in the fourth and eighth innings.
Andrew Godail picked up the win for the Brazos Valley Bombers. Godail pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs, three hits and four walks while striking out five.
Michael Apple was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Brazos Valley Bombers batters and allowing three runs.
