The Brazos Valley Bombers survive the Woodlands Strykers rally, escape with 4-2 victory

The Woodlands Strykers (9-24) were never able to get over the hump and get over their troubles against the Brazos Valley Bombers (22-16) on Monday, as the Woodlands Strykers fell 4-2 at Brazos Valley Bank Ballpark after falling behind by three runs in the fifth inning.

The Woodlands Strykers scored two runs in the sixth on an error and an RBI single by Travis Winnon. Despite their efforts, the Woodlands Strykers couldn't get over the hump.

James Wharton led the Brazos Valley Bombers' offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Nathan Sorenson got the win for the Brazos Valley Bombers thanks to nine strikeouts. Sorenson allowed no earned runs, four hits and one walk over 5 2/3 innings.

Ryan Farney was hot from the plate for the Woodlands Strykers. Farney went 2-4 and scored one run. He singled in the second and sixth innings.

Cameron Walker was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked two, struck out five, and allowed three runs.
