Jude Vidrine drove in the winning run to give the Victoria Generals (27-22) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Victoria Generals hung on to beat the Acadiana Cane Cutters (22-27) 5-2 on Wednesday.Carter Mangum singled to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a single by Chad Kruse. Finally, Vidrine came to the plate with the score tied at one, and reached on an error, bringing home Mangum.
The Victoria Generals were led by Kruse's hitting. Kruse went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He doubled in the first inning and singled in the sixth inning.
Dillon Newman picked up the win for the Victoria Generals. Newman allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks while striking out five over six innings of work.
The Acadiana Cane Cutters' Almann Snowden was perfect at the dish, going 3-3. He singled in the second and fourth innings and doubled in the sixth inning.
Sean Kennel (2-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
