The East Texas Pump Jacks fend off the Alexandria Aces' late push, hold on 4-2

The Alexandria Aces (15-21) weren't able to overcome the big hole they dug themselves into against the East Texas Pump Jacks (26-10), and the Alexandria Aces lost 4-2 to the East Texas Pump Jacks after falling behind by three runs in the fourth inning.

The Alexandria Aces scored two runs in the fifth on a two-run home run by Rene Moreda. Still, the Alexandria Aces couldn't draw even.

Taylor Murphy reached base four times in the game for the East Texas Pump Jacks. He singled in the third, seventh, and ninth innings.

The Alexandria Aces had no answer for Kyle Kubat, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Alexandria Aces managed just three hits off of the the East Texas Pump Jacks' pitcher, who allowed two earned runs, walked three and struck out five during his six innings of work.

Moreda racked up two RBIs on one hit for the Alexandria Aces. He homered in the fifth inning.

Tyler Vail (2-2) took the loss for the Alexandria Aces. He lasted just six innings, walked three, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
