A superb effort by Sam Malchar spurred the Acadiana Cane Cutters (16-16) to a 4-0 win over the East Texas Pump Jacks (23-7) on Saturday at Driller Park.

Malchar kept the East Texas Pump Jacks off the board during his eight innings of work. Malchar struck out six and allowed one walk and four hits.

Mike Barba racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Acadiana Cane Cutters. He homered in the eighth inning and singled in the ninth inning.

Ty Schlottmann couldn't get it done on the hill for the East Texas Pump Jacks, taking a loss. He lasted just seven innings, walked none, struck out four, and allowed three runs.
