Sunday was a great day for Tyler Vail, as Vail threw seven scoreless innings to carry the Alexandria Aces (8-12) to a 10-4 victory over the McKinney Marshals (2-16) at Bringhurst Field.
Five runs in the opening three innings allowed the Alexandria Aces to easily put away the McKinney Marshals. An error, a groundout by Ryan Wagner, a groundout by Wagner, and an RBI single by Doug Votolato in the first inning supplied the early offense for the Alexandria Aces.
Andrew Elkins (0-2) took the loss for the McKinney Marshals. He lasted just three innings, walked five, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
The Alexandria Aces' Nathan Hale, Jami Rachal, Votolato and Garren Palmer combined for seven hits and five RBIs.
