Tyler Girouard brought home the go-ahead run to give the East Texas Pump Jacks (6-1) the lead in the sixth inning, as the East Texas Pump Jacks hung on to beat the Woodlands Strykers (3-5) 2-1 on Sunday.Taylor Murphy reached on an error to start the sixth. He then went from first to third on an error. Finally, Girouard came to the plate with the score tied at one in the sixth inning, and hit a sacrifice fly, bringing home Murphy.
Kyle Kubat handled the Woodlands Strykers' lineup with ease, racking up six strikeouts. Kubat allowed no earned runs on four hits and one walk over 5 2/3 innings.
A bright spot for the Woodlands Strykers in the defeat was Alex Palsha, who allowed only two runs while striking out seven.
Cameron Gann recorded his first win of the year for the East Texas Pump Jacks. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered no hits.
Palsha was the game's losing pitcher.
