The East Texas Pump Jacks (5-1) beat the Woodlands Strykers (3-4) 3-2 on Saturday at Driller Park behind Whitt Dorsey, who went 3-3 at the plate.
He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.Gerardo Esquivel shut down the Woodlands Strykers while he was on the mound. Esquivel held the Woodlands Strykers hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.
Despite the loss, the Woodlands Strykers' Spencer Davis dominated the East Texas Pump Jacks' batters, giving up three runs and striking out seven.
Corey Ray got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Ray struck out two, walked two and gave up one hit.
Davis couldn't get it done on the mound for the Woodlands Strykers, taking a loss.
