The La Crosse Loggers (46-20) continued to pile up the runs on Wednesday, scoring four runs in the last three innings, on the way to an 18-2 landslide win over the Wisconsin Woodchucks (42-24) at Copeland Park.
The La Crosse Loggers scored nine runs in the fourth on a fielder's choice, an RBI single by Jimmy Bosco, a hit by pitch, a wild pitch, an RBI single by Bobby Juan, a two-run single by Richard Prigatano, an RBI single by Kevin Kramer, and an RBI single by Tyler Servais.
Prigatano racked up five RBIs on three hits for the La Crosse Loggers.
Steven Pallares pitched lights out for the La Crosse Loggers. Pallares held the Wisconsin Woodchucks hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Brendon Hayden put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Wisconsin Woodchucks. He homered in the fifth inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Matt Levert got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over five innings. Levert struck out six, walked two and gave up seven hits.
Jordan Luvisi ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out two.
The La Crosse Loggers easily handled the Wisconsin Woodchucks pitching as seven hitters combined for 15 hits, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
