An outstanding effort by Cody Ferrell hoisted the Mankato MoonDogs (27-7) to a 15-9 win over the Waterloo Bucks (19-15) on Tuesday at Franklin Rogers Park.
Ferrell rocked the Waterloo Bucks with two home runs. Ferrell went 5-5 in the game with four RBIs and four runs scored. Ferrell homered in the fourth, fourth, and eighth innings.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 24 runs and 26 hits, including zero extra base hits.
The Mankato MoonDogs blew out the Waterloo Bucks thanks to 14 hits, including zero extra base hits. The Mankato MoonDogs scored five runs in the fourth on an RBI single by Chase Fowler, a two-run error, a solo home run by Ferrell, and a two-run home run by Ferrell.
The game was back-and-forth heading into the fourth, with four lead changes.
Even though Kyle McGrath allowed six runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his fourth of the season. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered 11 hits.
Micah Bryan (2-3) took the loss for the Waterloo Bucks. He allowed 10 runs in four innings, walked two and struck out six.
