Early boost from Barrett helps the Waterloo Bucks get past the Duluth Huskies, 9-4

The Waterloo Bucks (19-12) built an early lead against the Duluth Huskies (15-14), scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 9-4 win on Saturday at Wade Stadium.

Thomas Lindauer got a hit in each of his three at bats. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

Derek Lamacchia struck out eight hitters en route to the the Waterloo Bucks win. Lamacchia allowed three earned runs, four hits and one walk over seven innings.

James Ramsay was hot from the plate for the Duluth Huskies. Ramsay went 2-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the eighth inning.

A.J. McElderry ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed five runs.

Freddy Villalobos, Lindauer, Jason Hockemeyer and Austin Barrett helped lead the Waterloo Bucks. They combined for 10 hits and five RBIs.
