The Thunder Bay Border Cats (11-12) and the Waterloo Bucks (16-7) each put runners in scoring position on Friday, but the Thunder Bay Border Cats capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 3-2 win at Subway Field.

The Thunder Bay Border Cats were led by a flawless day at the dish by Brett Kay, who went 2-2 against the Waterloo Bucks' pitching. He singled in the third and fifth innings.

Matt Cooper baffled the Waterloo Bucks, striking out seven batters. Cooper allowed one earned run, four hits and one walk over four innings.
