The Alaska Goldpanners make the most of 6 hits in 6-4 victory over the Peninsula Oilers

The Alaska Goldpanners (15-17) and the Peninsula Oilers (18-16) each put runners in scoring position on Tuesday, but the Alaska Goldpanners capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 6-4 win at Growden Memorial Park.

The Alaska Goldpanners held off the Peninsula Oilers, as the Peninsula Oilers were unable to overcome a five-run fourth inning deficit.

The Peninsula Oilers scored on a wild pitch, an RBI single by Garrett Stubbs, and an error in the sixth inning and an RBI single by Josh Miller in the seventh inning. Still, the Peninsula Oilers couldn't catch the Alaska Goldpanners.

Joey Epperson reached base three times. He singled in the sixth inning.

Miller was hot from the plate for the Peninsula Oilers. Miller went 3-4, drove in one and scored one run.

Patrick McGrath improved to 3-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Alaska Goldpanners. He allowed three runs over five innings. He struck out seven, walked four and surrendered eight hits.

Jordan Mills (3-3) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 3 2/3 innings, walked five, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
