The Alaska Goldpanners (12-14) didn't stand a chance on Saturday, as the Anchorage Bucs (13-14) captured a blowout 14-1 win in seven innings at Growden Memorial Park.
The Anchorage Bucs scored seven runs in the fourth on a double by Jordan Brink, a solo home run by Garrett Mattlage, a double by Chase Compton, a double by Danny Susdorf, a solo home run by Zach Esquerra, , and a solo home run by Zach Mathieu.
Collin Ferguson racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Anchorage Bucs. He doubled in the second inning, singled in the third and fourth innings, and homered in the fifth inning.
The Anchorage Bucs relied on Jacob Rhame to eat up innings en route to the win. Rhame allowed one earned run, nine hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings of work.
Paul Politi had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He doubled in the fourth and seventh innings.
Patrick McGrath was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in three innings, walked one and struck out five.
