The Anchorage Bucs hang on against the Alaska Goldpanners, 4-2

The Alaska Goldpanners (7-10) were never able to get over the hump and overcome their troubles against the Anchorage Bucs (10-9) on Saturday, as the Alaska Goldpanners fell 4-2 at Mulcahy Field after falling behind by three runs in the fifth inning.

The Alaska Goldpanners scored one run in the seventh on a groundout by Casey Munoz. Despite their efforts, the Alaska Goldpanners couldn't finish the comeback.

Brenden Kalfus was hot from the plate for the Anchorage Bucs. Kalfus went 2-3, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fifth inning.

Ben Doucette picked up the win for the Anchorage Bucs. Doucette allowed no earned runs, five hits and four walks while striking out four over six innings of work.

Kevin Casey boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 2-2 day at the plate to pace the Alaska Goldpanners. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Garrett Wilson was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
