Alex Bardeguez brought home the winning run to give the Newark Bears (13-24) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Newark Bears hung on to beat the Rockland Boulders (15-20) 3-2 on Monday.

Mike Ness picked up the win for the Newark Bears. Ness pitched eight innings and allowed two earned runs, seven hits and three walks while striking out three.

Jonathan Velasquez was charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just eight innings, walked two, struck out eight, and allowed three runs.
