Ryan Bicondoa struck out 12 batters to lift the Worcester Tornadoes (12-22) to a 3-2 win over the Newark Bears (11-23) at Hanover Insurance Park at Fitto.

The Worcester Tornadoes staved off the Newark Bears as the Newark Bears were unable to match the Worcester Tornadoes down the stretch.

The Newark Bears scored two runs in the fifth on an error and a sacrifice fly by Danny Santiesteban. Despite their efforts, the Newark Bears couldn't get over the hump.

Alex Nunez had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He singled in the first inning, tripled in the third inning, and doubled in the fifth inning.

Brian Parker couldn't get it done on the bump for the Newark Bears, taking a loss. He lasted just eight innings, walked none, struck out seven, and allowed three runs.
