Trezza stars as the Worcester defeat the Rockland, 11-7

Alex Trezza clubbed two home runs to carry the Worcester (10-20) to an 11-7 win over the Rockland (13-15) at Provident Bank Park.

The game was back-and-forth heading into the eighth, with five lead changes.

The Worcester pulled out the win thanks to a strong eighth inning. A sacrifice fly by Brendon Kelliher scored Johnny Welch and Chris Torres and gave the Worcester the lead for good.

Ryan Scoma reached base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He tripled in the seventh inning and singled in the fourth and ninth innings.

Nick Serino got the win, running his season record to 1-1. He allowed one run over 2 1/3 innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered five hits.

Chris Rubio couldn't get it done on the mound for the Rockland, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

The Worcester were sparked by Nick Salotti and Trezza, who teamed up for five hits and six RBIs.
