Benji Johnson went 1-4 and hit a home run as the St Paul took home a 6-3 victory over the Newark (7-7) at Bears _ Eagles Riverfront Stadi on Friday.

Wes Roemer got the win for the St Paul thanks to seven strikeouts. Roemer allowed three earned runs on six hits and no walks over 7 2/3 innings.

It was a good day at the plate for the Newark's Eric McGee. McGee went 1-4, drove in one and scored one run. He homered in the seventh inning.

Alex Smith (0-2) took the loss for the Newark. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked two and struck out six.
