Great game from the Rockland's Brachold not enough in 9-7 loss to the New Jersey

The Rockland (33-29) failed to take advantage of Keith Brachold's effort at the plate on Wednesday, losing 9-7 to the New Jersey (36-27) at Yogi Berra Stadium.

Brachold blasted two home runs for the Rockland. Brachold went 3-4 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Brachold homered in the third, third, and ninth innings.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to seven lead changes in the game.

The New Jersey staved off the Rockland as the Rockland were unable to match the New Jersey down the stretch.

The Rockland scored three runs in the ninth on a three-run home run by Brachold. Still, the Rockland couldn't draw even.

Bryan Sabatella racked up four RBIs on one hit for the New Jersey. He homered in the sixth inning.

Jeff Gogal improved to 5-1 on the year by picking up the win for the New Jersey. Gogal struck out two, walked one and gave up one hit.

Pat Moran was charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked six and struck out four.
