Pedro Rivera held the Quebec (5-3) scoreless for seven innings to boost the Newark (6-4) to a 2-0 victory.

Rivera struck out five and allowed one walk and five hits.

Quentin Davis put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Newark . He homered in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

John Mariotti couldn't get it done on the hill for the Quebec , taking a loss. He lasted just six innings, walked two, struck out six, and allowed two runs.

The Newark didn't relinquish the lead after scoring one run in the fourth inning when they scored on a solo home run by Davis.
