An impressive effort by Jason Jarvis spurred the Sioux City Explorers (41-52) to a 2-1 win over the Sioux Falls Pheasants (42-51) on Sunday at Sioux Falls Stadium.

The Sioux City Explorers relied on Jarvis to eat up innings en route to the win. Jarvis allowed one earned run, five hits and two walks while striking out seven over nine innings of work.

Rod Scurry was effective even in defeat, mowing down eight the Sioux City Explorers batters and allowing two runs.

Scurry couldn't get it done on the mound for the Sioux Falls Pheasants, taking a loss.
