Scelfo's walk-off single send the Laredo Lemurs home winners, 7-6

A walk-off single from Anthony Scelfo brought home the winning run for the Laredo Lemurs (44-43) in a 7-6 victory over the Amarillo Sox in 16 innings at Uni-Trade Stadium on Tuesday.

John Allen racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Laredo Lemurs. He homered in the fifth inning and singled in the first and fourteenth innings.

The Amarillo Sox (41-47) couldn't get anything going as long as Mike Benacka was pitching. Benacka held the Amarillo Sox hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Gabriel Zavala improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Laredo Lemurs. Zavala struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

Derek Christensen ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his fourth loss of the year. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed one run.
