Three first-inning runs helped the Laredo Lemurs (40-41) to a 9-5 win over the Sioux Falls Pheasants (35-46) at Sioux Falls Stadium on Tuesday.
Palmer Karr Jr. racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Laredo Lemurs. He singled in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and homered in the ninth inning.
Mike Benacka brought the heat against the Sioux Falls Pheasants during his outing. Benacka held the Sioux Falls Pheasants hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out four.
Trevor Lawhorn racked up four RBIs on two hits for the Sioux Falls Pheasants. He doubled in the fifth and sixth innings.
Even though Matt Way allowed five runs over 6 2/3 innings he still recorded the victory, his eighth of the season. He struck out eight, walked four and surrendered six hits.
Barry Fowler was charged with the loss. He allowed seven runs in 6 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out two.
