Jon Gaston brought home the winning run to give the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks (53-28) the lead in the eighth inning, as the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks hung on to beat the Winnipeg Goldeyes (47-33) 5-3 on Monday.Nic Jackson reached on an error to start the eighth. He then went from first to second on a stolen base. Finally, Gaston came to the plate with the score tied at three in the eighth inning, and singled, plating Jackson.
Jackson racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.
Kevin Fuqua got the win, running his season record to 2-1. Fuqua struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.
Brian Beuning (5-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 1/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
