A walk-off single from Jose Hernandez brought home the winning run for the St Paul Saints (42-37) in a 4-3 victory over the Amarillo Sox (37-43) in 10 innings at Midway Stadium on Saturday.
Hernandez was hot from the plate for the St Paul Saints. Hernandez went 2-5 and drove in one. He doubled in the second inning and singled in the tenth inning.
Chris Odegaard looked sharp on the mound. Odegaard held the Amarillo Sox hitless over 1 1/3 innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.
Nick Carr recorded his first win of the year for the St Paul Saints. Carr struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.
Jack Spradlin (5-7) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
