Chavez gives the El Paso Diablos late push to beat the Laredo Lemurs, 5-2

Zane Chavez drove in the go-ahead run to give the El Paso Diablos (35-38) the lead in the sixth inning, as the El Paso Diablos hung on to beat the Laredo Lemurs (35-41) 5-2 on Wednesday.

Mitch Einertson singled to start the sixth. He then went from first to second on a single by Welington Dotel. Finally, Chavez came to the plate with the score tied at one, and, bringing home Einertson.

Daniel Nelson racked up three RBIs on one hit for the El Paso Diablos. He tripled in the sixth inning.

Luis Chirinos struck out nine hitters en route to the the El Paso Diablos win. Chirinos allowed no earned runs on five hits and three walks over seven innings.

Matt Way (7-6) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just eight innings, walked four, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
