Offenses dominate as the Winnipeg Goldeyes outscore the Sioux Falls Pheasants 20-16

The bats were busy at Shaw Park on Monday, and when the dust cleared the Winnipeg Goldeyes (44-31) had a 20-16 win over the Sioux Falls Pheasants (34-42).

The teams totaled 31 hits in the game.

Yurendell de Caster helped the Winnipeg Goldeyes pull ahead for the duration in the sixth inning. With the score tied at seven, de Caster came to the plate and, bringing home Jose O. Duran.

De Caster put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. He tripled in the third inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Josh Mazzola racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Winnipeg Goldeyes. He singled in the second and sixth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

Even though Chris Salamida allowed seven runs over seven innings he still recorded the victory, his third of the season. He struck out four, walked none and surrendered seven hits.

Dan Cooper (1-5) took the loss for the Sioux Falls Pheasants. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked three, struck out none, and allowed four runs.

The Winnipeg Goldeyes easily handled the Sioux Falls Pheasants pitching as seven hitters combined for 14 hits, 13 RBIs and 16 runs scored.
