The Winnipeg Goldeyes (42-29) needed 10 innings on Friday to take down the Sioux City Explorers (32-41) 5-4 at Lewis _ Clark Park.

With the score tied at four in the tenth inning, Yurendell de Caster came to the plate and singled, plating Chris Roberson.

De Caster helped the Winnipeg Goldeyes pull ahead for the duration in the tenth inning.

Josh Mazzola rocked the Sioux City Explorers with two home runs. Mazzola went 2-4 in the game with two RBIs and two runs scored. Mazzola homered in the second and fourth innings.

The Sioux City Explorers had no answer for Brian Beuning, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Beuning gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three during his three innings of work.

Chuck Lukanen ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
