The Lincoln Saltdogs (28-42) built an early lead against the Laredo Lemurs (32-37), scoring three runs in the first inning, en route to a 4-3 win on Wednesday at Haymarket Park.
John Alonso helped the Lincoln Saltdogs take the lead for good in the seventh inning. Jimmy Rohan doubled to start the seventh. He then went from second to third on a groundout by Stephen Holdren. Finally, Alonso came to the plate with the score tied at three, and doubled, plating Rohan.
Rohan was solid at the plate for the Lincoln Saltdogs. Rohan went 2-4 and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the seventh inning.
Wade Mackey got the win, running his season record to 5-1. He allowed three runs over seven innings. Mackey struck out four, walked none and gave up nine hits.
Leonard Giammanco (1-4) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed one run.
