A loss looked likely for the Quebec Les Capitales when they trailed by six runs in the fourth inning, but the Quebec Les Capitales were able to capture the lead back with a an RBI single by Steve Brown in the sixth inning, spurring the Quebec Les Capitales to a 12-9 win over the Gary SouthShore RailCats (25-33) at Le Stade Municipal on Wednesday.
With the score tied at seven in the sixth inning, Brown came to the plate and singled, plating Rene Leveret.
Brown had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the fourth inning, singled in the sixth inning, and doubled in the seventh inning.
Both squads had things going at the plate, tallying 21 runs and 25 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with nine pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Guillaume Leduc got the win for the Quebec Les Capitales. He pitched 2 2/3 shutout innings. Leduc struck out one, walked three and gave up two hits.
Marshall Schuler (0-1) took the loss for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. He allowed six runs in one inning, walked one and struck out none.
