The Winnipeg Goldeyes (32-20) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the St Paul Saints (23-28), recording an 8-1 victory on Friday at Shaw Park.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Winnipeg Goldeyes to put the game away early.

An RBI double by Yurendell de Caster and a groundout by Luis Alen in the first inning and an RBI double by Price Kendall and a three-run home run by Jon Weber during the second inning fueled the Winnipeg Goldeyes' offense early.

Weber racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Winnipeg Goldeyes.

Todd Privett struck out six hitters en route to the the Winnipeg Goldeyes win. Privett allowed one earned run, five hits and three walks over six innings.

Adam Frost reached base three times. He doubled in the fifth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Alberto Rolon couldn't get it done on the rubber for the St Paul Saints, taking a loss. He allowed six runs in six innings, walked four and struck out two.
