The Lincoln Saltdogs (18-27) trailed by three in the ninth, but the Lincoln Saltdogs recovered thanks to a key solo blast in the tenth inning from Salomon Manriquez to pull out a 15-14 win in 10 innings over the St Paul Saints (21-22) at Midway Stadium on Wednesday.
With the score tied at 14 in the tenth inning, Manriquez came to the plate and homered.
Manriquez reached base two times in the game for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He scored one run and had one RBI. He singled in the second and ninth innings and homered in the tenth inning.
The two teams combined for 29 runs and 46 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with 11 pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
John Alonso racked up five RBIs on five hits for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings, doubled in the eighth inning, and homered in the ninth inning.
PJ Zocchi recorded his first win of the year for the Lincoln Saltdogs. He allowed one run over two innings. Zocchi struck out two, walked none and gave up two hits.
Reid Mahon couldn't get it done on the hill for the St Paul Saints, taking a loss. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
